Historical District Walk
Join the Dorset Historical Society on a walk along the streets of the East Dorset Village Historic District, listed in the Vermont State Register of Historic Places on July 18, 2024. Many of the buildings in the District share physical characteristics such as gable roof designs, marble foundations and sidewalks, slate covered roofs and clapboard siding. The design and layout of the village seem to have been planned with small lots, roadside homes, tree-lined streets and marble sidewalks. Marble mills once lined the entire west side of the village boundary. Little of that remains today. Meet at the Wilson House at 2 pm, to flesh out the clues that point to an earlier time in East Dorset’s history. For more information contact the Dorset Historical Society at 802.867.0331 or the tour guide, Ruth Stewart 802.362.1185.
