Jon Mathewson, Curator

A resident of Middletown Springs, Mathewson has notable museum experience, having worked at or been a board member of several area institutions- the Slate Valley Museum in Granville, N.Y., the Middletown Historical Society, Middlebury’s Sheldon Museum, and the Fly Fishing Museum in Manchester, among others.

A graduate of Union College, with a master’s degree in history from UVM, Mathewson has served as an independent consultant, collections manager, and curator at museums, as well as a Manchester Journal reporter in the late 1990s. He is a published poet, has been a member of a performance poetry ensemble, has served three terms as president of the Poultney Rotary Club, and is also a beekeeper.
